The Hilliard Recreation and Wellness Center, locally known as "The Well", is a 105,000 sf recreation center in Hilliard, Ohio that is currently expected to open in 2025. Working with the BRS team, James and his colleagues collaborated with the City of Hilliard, Prime AE, and EDGE Landscape Architects to create a design that includes a natatorium, gymnasium, indoor running track, fitness and weight room, aerobic dance/ spin studios, classrooms, and a 240-person community events rooms attached to a commercial kitchen, teaching kitchen, child watch area and outdoor patio.

During the course of this project, James supported the BRS team from schematic design through construction documents. He learned the in's and out's of recreation design, documentation, and coordination while observing BRS's unique approach to community engagement and lean management. Below you can see process images as part of the design. On top of his normal duties, James contributed specifically several parts of the design including the partition screen design, indoor play proposals, and meditation room proposals.
